Lauren + Jake, a timeless urban Portland wedding at Castaway

Lauren and Jake's wedding at Castaway in NW Portland was a classically beautiful event.
Lauren and her attendants started the day getting ready at the Woodlark Hotel downtown, just a short drive from the venue. It's one of my favorite spots for getting ready shots because of the giant windows and classy decor. Hailey with All Hails Beauty and Knot and Rouge met them on site for hair and makeup, and then we departed for Castaway where Lauren and Jake had their first look.
The venue itself is lit with walls of windows that provided a breathtaking background for their ceremony, and is surrounded by elements like tall brick buildings, views of the iconic Fremont bridge, and a mural right across the street. Their altar was a minimalist but impactful arrangement of two pillars topped with overflowing arrangements by Washington's Olive Branch Farm, which really allowed the scenery of the neighborhood to come through.
For their reception, guests were treated to a delicious meal from Portland Catering Company and then the cutest dessert spread from The Hungry Hero. One of the most unique things from their big day was that they collaborated with their DJ, Madd Chill, and selected a special song for each table that played as they were released to the buffet- and that became a dance off!
Other vendors were Charlotte's Weddings for Lauren's gown, which was altered by Silhouette Tailoring Studio and then pressed by August Veils. Jake's suit came from Indochino, and their rings from Brilliance in Diamonds.
From the paper they made themselves for their invitations, down to their last song, Lauren and Jake's big day was just so perfectly them. Now go look at the photos from their sneak peek, and see what we all saw! -R
